Danny Diamond, fiddle player, photographer and Field Recordings Officer with ITMA, has been visiting Inishowen Traditional Singers’ Circle events for the past few years. He has subtly captured the essence of many singers and moments we have enjoyed in their company.
Photographer & Designer Ken Garland, began to visit singing festivals in Ireland in the 1980s, photographing singers in an unobtrusive style. Jim Flynn and organisers of the Forkhill Singing Weekend, recognising the importance of Ken’s work, sponsored The Singing, an exhibition of photographs of singers at various festivals – including the Inishowen Weekend. Ken donated the exhibition photographs to the Irish Traditional Music Archive who have made them available on it’s website Photographs of Singers by Ken Garland
