2012 sees a major new initiative from the ITSC, with the launch of monthly singing workshops. On the 2nd Saturday of each month, students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from Ireland’s finest traditional singers.

Based in the Market House, Clonmany, the 2 hour workshop will cover 2 songs, with each student receiving words, background notes and a CD recording of the tutor.

We hope students will enjoy a supportive and non competitive atmosphere in which to learn – don’t worry, we will not be asking people to sing on their own!
At the end of the series of workshops, those who have attended will receive a special ITSC Certificate.
This will be the first of many projects as part of “It’s a fine thing to sing” – a project to encourage younger singers to carry on Inishowen’s singing tradition.
We are really grateful to the Arts Council for funding this project and enabling us to provide the workshops free of charge.
