Roisín White

Roisin White was born near Kilkeel in Co. Down but  has lived most of her life in Armagh. As a child, she remembers her mother singing all kinds of songs around the house which gave her a life-long interest in songs.

She studied Irish Gaelic language, and when at one of the smallest of the Aran Islands to improve her Irish, she learned traditional singing from a small community where singing was very common and natural. She has learned songs directly from countless source and revival singers, including Len Graham, Eddie Butcher, Paddy & Bridget Tunney, and Robert Cinnamond. She performs a range of these songs on her 2 CDs, “First of my Rambles” & “With Thanks / Le buíochas

Roisin has absorbed the traditional culture and made her own robust and jaunty singing style. A singer in both Irish and English she is in enormous demand every year in Britain, North America and Europe to perform and to teach. She now lives in Miltown Malbay County Clare
