ITSC is delighted to share that organiser Grace Toland has been awarded an The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon Traditional Arts Bursary to explore singers' experiences of learning, and teaching songs. What is the best way? Or is there a best way? All will be revealed in the coming months when Grace undertakes interviews with a range of singers, sifts through research and also documents her own journey of learning, mentoring and teaching songs.
Grace is currently on a career break from the Irish Traditional Music Archive / Taisce Cheol Dúchais Éireann and is working on a number of new projects for the ITSC, as well as her own research.
Grace and her husband Brian, who have been involved in running the ITSC since 2006 with Kevin McGonigle, moved back to live permanently in Clonmany during the pandemic.
